Here are just a few suggestions on how to reward employees in your company.
Work From Home
In today’s technological world, many tasks at work can be accomplished on a personal computer in the comfort of one’s own home. If you have employees who spend most of their time at a computer, there is no reason why you can’t allow them to do some of their work from home, rather than being in the office from 9-5 each day.
This simple reward does not put your business out monetarily, as they are getting paid the same amount for their work, but you will find that many employees will greatly appreciate this type of reward program.
Working from home gives your employee more freedom and a “change of scenery.”
Who doesn’t love a day off now and then? What’s even better is a paid day off. If your company can afford some monetary perks, this is a great reward program.
By allowing your high-achieving employee some time off, you are helping him or her become re-energized.
This new energy actually improves employees’ work and productivity when they return to the workplace, so it’s really a win-win situation!
Along with this idea is the idea of an extended lunch period. If you don’t like the idea of giving an employee an entire day off, or if you can’t afford it, perhaps you can simply extend the employee’s lunch time.
If your company is divided into teams, a great incentive for employees to perform well is to have a team reward for a job-well-done.
You may already have a budget set aside for the team.
If they successfully accomplish a task or succeed in some other way as a group, they can vote on the reward they will receive, whether it is time off or a free lunch. This reward program is quite effective, as it increases the unity within the team, which really increases its overall productivity.
Another simple reward program is public praise and acknowledgement.
Consider having a voting box set out.
Employees can nominate others for things they do well in the workplace, and at employee meetings, drawings can be held for prizes.
These are just a few of several options for rewarding employees in the workplace. The important thing is to have some of these programs in place in your company.
As you do so, you will undoubtedly find an increased motivation in your employees and greater productivity in general.
